Georgia "Mama" Waters

Born on August 2, 1929, in Lincoln, Nebraska, she grew up in Golden, Colorado and went on to have a career working with the City of Golden and the City of Lakewood as secretary of the planning department. She was known for her kindness, humor, strength and faith and her love for her family, The Colorado Rockies, community work and church.

She will be remembered for her home-cooked meals, her garden, her laughter, her dedication to family and her church. Her legacy of love, resilience, generosity, faith will continue to inspire all who knew her.

Georgia is survived by her children Patty Rogers and David Waters. Her grandchildren are Traci Wood, Sheri Wood, Sara Martin, Jessica Kearns, Stephanie Jorgensen, and Renae Davis. Her great-grandchildren Jesse Asch, Ryan Asch, Erik Bobbett, Gabby Martin, Leah Martin, Emma Martin, Dorian LaBoucane, Raelyn LaBoucane, Maddison LaBoucane, Paisley Kearns and Mason Jorgensen and her sister Gloria Evans, and preceded in death by her eldest daughter, Nancy Wood and husband William Waters.

A funeral/memorial service will be held on September 13, 2025, at 1:30 pm at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, 2470 Wadsworth Blvd. Lakewood, CO 80214. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church or Wounded Warrior Project.

She will be dearly missed but forever cherished in our hearts.
