Gilbert E. Martinez, 79, died quietly on Thursday, May 26, 2011 in Morrison, Colorado. He is preceded in death by his first wife, Rose and siblings Eloy Martinez, Annie Walker and Tom Martinez. He is survived by his loving wife, Bertha Montoya; his daughters, Patricia (Warren) Johnson, Laura Franco and granddaughter, Amy Johnson. Gilbert was a Korean War Veteran, a Purple Heart Recipiant, a member of the Lakewood Elks Post 1777 and American Legion Post 0193. Gilbert loved his family, and especially enjoyed fishing, reading, travelling and telling stories. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him. Visitation, Sun, June 5, 4:30-6:30 pm; service, Mon, June 6, 9 am both at Olinger Crown Hill, 29th and Wadsworth. Committal to follow at Fort Logan.
