Gloria G. Rudden

Gloria Rudden, aged 90, passed away peacefully in her home on December 29th, 2023. She was reunited with her beloved husband and friend, Richard Wayne Rudden, who preceded her in death in 2009.

Gloria was born at General Grant Hospital in Colorado on August 5th, 1933, and spent her formative years on a farm in Adams County. At just six weeks old, an unfortunate incident rendered her family homeless, but they later found a new home in Northwest Adams County, where Gloria spent the rest of her remarkable life.

Alongside her mother Ruth, Gloria developed the farm property, transforming it into a community with numerous homes and commercial spaces. During the construction of the I-70 interstate, Gloria and her mother acquired homes that were being demolished or sold, relocating them to their farm.

Later in life, after raising her children, Gloria pursued higher education, earning degrees in Photography and Graphic Design with honors. Her passion for photography led her to a career in medical administration.

Gloria was not only a dedicated mother to Michael and Wendy, a loving mother-in-law to Roger, but also a cherished grandmother to Megan, Brian, and Shaun.

Active in her community, Gloria served on numerous boards in Adams County and Berkeley Water. Her proudest achievements included her work with close friends to preserve open spaces in Adams County. Recently, Hyland Hills Parks and Recreation honored her dedication by naming a lake after her at Clear Creek Valley Park.

As Gloria demonstrated throughout her life, one person can indeed make a difference. In keeping with her legacy, the family kindly requests that you plant a tree in her memory and to make any donations to the Adams County Open Space general fund.

Per her final wishes, a small private funeral will be held to honor and remember Gloria, who believed that all her dear friends were eagerly waiting for her at the pearly gates.
