Helen was born on August 18, 1931 in Canton, Ohio, the daughter of John and Anna Manos. She attended Greek School and then graduated from McKinley High School in 1949. Helen attended college at Ohio State University and earned her degree in Dental Hygiene. She also started another career as a realtor helping clients find their dream homes for approximately 20 years. Most recently, she volunteered her time with the Jefferson County Health Department in both the Lakewood and Edgewater offices educating families and their kids on proper tooth and gum health.
She loved sports and was an avid golfer into her 70s and was also an excellent bowler. She was a part of two leagues and enjoyed bowling up until July of last year. Helen loved the Broncos and attended or watched games with her sons, grandchildren or her cousins, Pat and Jere Kennedy. She also loved her Ohio State Buckeyes and had an opportunity to recently watch them beat Alabama for a chance to play Oregon in the National Championship. Now, she will have the best seat in the house.
Helen was a woman of faith and had a strong relationship with God. She was an active member of St. Catherine's Greek Orthodox Church in Greenwood Village and was a part of the Ladies Philoptochos Society, Agape group and was a "dough girl" helping to bake for various festivals.
Helen loved her three grandchildren deeply and was a big part of their lives. She made every effort to attend soccer and baseball games as well as choir, band, orchestra and piano concerts. She loved spending time with them bowling, playing dominoes as well as cards.
She will be greatly missed by all of those whose lives she touched.
