Jennie Rachel Walters was born June 12, 1928 in North Dakota. She was the middle of six children. Most of her upbringing was in South Dakota before she found her rooted ground in Denver, CO. She remained in her Denver home for over 50 years.
She worked for Kmart for many years as a Sales Associate, until her retirement.
Jennie was the mother of seven children, grandmother to many grandchildren & even a great-grandmother.
She enjoyed having weekly lunches with her girlfriends, fishing, camping, puzzles, crafting, crocheting and watching old black & white westerns on TV.
In her travels, she visited Hawaii as well as taking many trips back to South Dakota to visit her family & walk the Volksmarch up to the arm of Crazy Horse Memorial with them. She loved spending time with family and speaking with her sisters and kids weekly & babysitting the grandkids. They would all bake and make crafts.
Jennie loved Hummingbirds and trinket boxes. She collected what seemed like thousands displayed proudly around the house.
She was diagnosed with Dementia & eventually moved to a nursing facility in Aurora, CO where she quickly became a favorite of patients and staff. Unfortunately, the complications of the disease got the best of her and she is now peacefully at rest in Heaven, reunited with her family, siblings & children who parted before her.
We will miss you and we love you.
Until we meet again...
Following her wishes, private services will be held.
