Jennifer “Jenni” was born on February 26th, 1976, in Portsmouth, VA, the youngest child to John and Sharon Nicholson. She grew up and attended schools in California and Colorado. Jenni graduated from Northgate High School in Walnut Creek, California and attended college at Diablo Valley Junior College in Pleasant Hill, California. She was married for 11 years and later divorced.
Jenni was employed at Good Samaritan Medical Center and ClearChoice Dental Implant Center for many years. Her passion was teaching and she taught children of all ages; special needs children being her passion to teach.
Jenni enjoyed animals, shopping, giving personalized gifts, humor, witty comebacks, being with her friends and family, and above all, making everyone around her smile. Jenni was an amazing young woman whom knew how to make everyone around her smile as brightly as she did. She loved bringing happiness to others and stood up for the “underdog”, sometimes at her own expense. She had many fond memories with her family and friends and left an unforgettable legacy with everyone that she met.
She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Jenni always upheld the teachings and beliefs of the church in every facet of her life. Jenni’s compassion and skills eventually led her to teaching the primary class at her church. She always thoughtfully planned out her lesson plans and activities to correlate with the lesson so that she could capture the attention of any child 3 to 11 years old. But above all, Jenni was the most thoughtful, caring, kind-hearted, and courageous woman who loved her family and friends with all of her heart.
She is survived by her parents, Johnathan (John) and Sharon Nicholson of Denver, Colorado; brothers, Matthew (Matt) Lysne of Seattle, Washington, and Joseph (Joe) Hodge of Phoenix, Arizona; Sister, Catherine (Cathy) Hodge, of Phoenix, Arizona; Aunt and Uncle, Bonnie (Don) Welsh; Aunts, Vi Simpson of Clarksville, Maryland, and Marsha Simpson, Denver, Colorado; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Jenni was preceded in death by her grandparents, Harold and Mary Simpson and Milburn and Thelma Nicholson; Uncles, Lawrence Simpson, Harold Vernon Simpson, and Gary Simpson; Cousins, Wendy Simpson and Shelby Ryan Tadych.
