

Jocelyne Budde Thomas, aged 92, passed away on February 27, 2025. She was known for being an avid reader, crossword puzzle enthusiast, passionate music lover, and could play a mean tune on the piano. She had extensive knowledge of baseball statistics and loved the Colorado Rockies. Throughout her life, she cared for many animals and had a fondness for red roses and red glassware.
Up until a couple of years ago, Jocelyne worked as an Administrative Assistant in the Physical and Occupational Therapy department at Children's Hospital. Above all, she cherished her family and was devoted to her children and grandchildren.
Jocelyne was born on September 10, 1932, in Evanston, Illinois. Although she was an only child, she frequently enjoyed the companionship of her cousin Joel. At the age of 13, she moved with her parents from Illinois to Florida, graduating from Marianna High School in 1950. She attended Florida State University and was a member of Delta, Delta, Delta (Alpha Eta Chapter) sorority,
On December 15, 1952, she married the love of her life, Nelson Giles Thomas in St. Augustine, Florida. Nelson worked for the USGS. As an Uranium geologist, his career led them to live in various locations across the United States.
Jocelyne was preceded in death by her parents, Alford and Madeleine Budde; her husband, Nelson G. Thomas; and her sons, Leonard A. Thomas and David C. Thomas. She is survived by her children, Nelson B. Thomas, Janet A. Rocha, Madeleine M. Weller (Ronald L. Weller) and Michael E. Thomas, along with nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
A memorial honoring Jocelyne’s life will be Thursday April 3rd at 2:00 in the afternoon, at Ft. Logan National Cemetery. Reception to follow, 13863 W. Marlowe Circle, Morrison CO 80465
