Joe Gallegos

Joe was born on May 13, 1931 in La Sauces, CO to Flaviano and Minnie Gallegos. He had 5 brothers and 1 sister. Raised in the San Luis Valley, Joe graduated from Sanford High School, and joined the US Army in 1950. After returning from the military, he married Mabel Chavez in 1952: they settled in Denver in 1958. their son, Dennis, was born in 1953 and their daughter, Judy, in 1956. That same year, he would start a career spanning 30 years as a truck driver in the transportation industry, retiring in 1986.

Joe is survived by wife, Mabel, son, Dennis, daughter Judy (Richard), 3 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, a sister and a brother, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was an avid Bronco fan & loved sports in general. Joe loved his family and was a devoted husband and father, and will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
