Joseph Robert Yinger, age 26, passed away on Wednesday, October, 12, 2016. He was born on August 23, 1990 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He was living in Denver, Colorado and attending Metropolitan State University.
He is survived by his parents Bill and Tami Yinger, his siblings Chris Yinger and Devin Dahl, Will and Jami Yinger, and Emily Yinger, his niece and nephews William, Georgia, and Copeland, grandparents Gene and Carlene Sparkman, and Bill and Joan Yinger, and numerous aunts,
uncles, and cousins, and countless friendships.
Joseph spent his early childhood in Oklahoma and the rest of his adolescence in Buena Vista, Colorado. He attended Buena Vista High School in Buena Vista, Colorado. In both places, Joseph impacted lives and created relationships that continue to this day. Joseph was the spark of light in the room, always entertaining us and making us laugh even from age 5 when he performed as Joke Boy at church youth group.
Joseph was a friend to everyone and never met a stranger. He loved the underdog and would always stand up for what he believed in. His smile could change your entire day, his hug was unforgettable. He had a great sense of humor and his prized possession was his costume box,
wearing a banana suit to a job interview and a dinosaur costume to a wedding.
He struggled with Hodgkins Lymphoma and had a brush with death in his early twenties. He was a sensitive soul who felt deeply and compassionately for those around him. His impact on this earth cannot be measured and his life and presence will never be forgotten.
We are blown away by all of the love and support we have received in this time of sorrow. He was an an amazing, beautiful, crazy, hilarious, wild, son, brother, uncle, cousin, friend, and man.
As Joseph’s nephew, William, said so sweetly - "we wish we had a portal" but we know you are surrounded by God's unfailing love and knowing the peace that passes all understanding. We will find that portal someday and join you.
