June V. Martinez

June V. Martinez, age 88, of Denver, Colorado passed away on Friday, August 14, 2020. June was born June 21, 1932 in Colfax County, New Mexico to Louis and Carmelita Vargas. She grew up in Cimmaron, NM with her two brothers and seven sisters. As a young woman she met David Martinez and together they started their family and lived Tooele, UT. Together they had eight children. Eventually she made her way to Denver, Colorado in the late 1970's. While raising her family she worked a variety jobs. June retired from the Veteran's Administration in 1997. After that she kept working at Rite Aid as a Manager and retired in 2013. When she wasn't working she enjoyed going to Blackhawk to the casinos and traveling with family. She will be remembered for her spunky personality. She showed a great deal of courage in the face of adversity throughout her life. June treasured her grandchildren beyond measure and they cherished her as well.

She was preceded in death by her parents; eight of nine siblings; all eight of her children; and her husband. Survivors include, her sister Marylou Romero; six grandchildren, four great grandchildren; and many other family and dear friends who will miss her.
