

Junior Eugene Evans “Gene” passed away on March 26, 2025, in Wheat Ridge, Colorado. Gene was born on October 21, 1937, in Gordon, Nebraska and lived a life marked by dedication to his work, creativity in hobbies, and a deep appreciation for the world around him. Gene was a loving spouse, father, son, brother, uncle, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
Gene built a long and fulfilling career rooted in public service. He retired from the Public Service Company of Colorado after years of committed work. His professional journey continued with the City of Arvada at the Arvada Center for the Arts and Humanities, where he also retired. Through these roles, Gene contributed meaningfully to his community and left a lasting impression on colleagues and those he served and met.
Outside of work, Gene found joy in creative pursuits and lifelong passions. He was an avid crocheter and needlepoint enthusiast, crafting intricate pieces that reflected both patience and artistry. A devoted fan of baseball, Gene followed the Colorado Rockies with enthusiasm. Travel was another source of happiness for him - exploring new places brought inspiration and fulfillment throughout his life.
A memorial service honoring Gene’s life will be held on Friday, April 11, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Olinger at Crown Hill, located at 7777 West 29th Ave., Wheat Ridge, Colorado 80033.
