Jutta Ferdows (Wife, Mother, and Grandmother) passed away on December 30th, 2023. She died peacefully surrounded by her family. She is predeceased by her daughter Nadia. She is survived by her husband Hugh, her two daughters Christina and Sonja, and her grandchildren Nina and Alex.
Jutta was born in Leipzig Germany on October 10th, 1937. In her early childhood she endured the hardships of World War II. At the age of 18, as the wall dividing East and West was being built, Jutta had the courage to leave her immediate family for a better life in West Germany. She met Hugh at the age of 19 in Augsburg, Germany, and later married. Their daughter Nadia was born, and the three of them moved to Iran. There, the family was blessed with two more daughters, Christina and Sonja. Jutta soon became fluent in Farsi, and was able to integrate quite naturally into life in Tehran. Due to rising political events, the family moved to Germany in 1978, and then to Boulder, Colorado in 1981.
Her family and friends will always remember Jutta for her big heart. She was kind, caring, and loving; generously sharing these qualities with everyone she met. She had a passion for the outdoors, including hiking, snow and water skiing, travel, and spending time with family. She was an exquisite cook, and we will all miss her cuisine. Jutta was a talented designer; her home is a showcase of her international style, and she always dressed as if each day was a special occasion. Jutta endured her life-long pulmonary health condition with grace and optimism.
She will be deeply missed. Heaven has gained a beautiful soul. She filled our hearts with so much enduring love. The life she lived will always be remembered. Her smiles and the kindness she spread will live on forever in our memories.
