--A man of great courage and wisdom, and like David: a man after God's own heart.--
Ken was a wonderful, loving husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, and uncle who can never be replaced. His care and thoughtfulness extended to all around him--particularly blessing his wife, children, grandchildren, siblings, and friends. Ken saw the "big picture" and often thought of ways to help and bless others in ways that no one else saw. He wore t-shirts with scripture references to encourage others and open opportunities to discuss with them God's good plans for their lives. He earnestly and unashamedly loved his Lord.
Ken had skills and interests in woodcrafts, fly-fishing, bowling, designing kitchens and bathrooms, and gardening; and he was able to fix almost anything. He maintained his home in meticulously good repair and filled it with upscale items--purchased on Craigslist and from the "Nextdoor" neighborhood website. Knowing his wife often felt chilled, he showered her with warm clothing so she would have something to keep her cozy in every circumstance.
In his own words, Ken was a "foodie." His abilities in the kitchen were admired by all. He smoked his own meats; he made his own sausage, cheese, and noodles; his entrees were tantalizing and tasty; he loved spicy foods (and spicing up foods); and his green chili was a blue ribbon winner. He is remembered with fondness everywhere he brought and shared his amazing dishes.
Ken's move to heaven is cause for joyous celebration by all those who love him; yet it is bittersweet because of the loss on earth of this great man. Ken is survived by his wife, Jeannie Iglehart; daughter, Tricia Young; son-in-law, Carl Young; step-daughter, Candice Randall; step-son and daughter-in-law, Clint and Nicole Marley; step-son, Nick Marley (and girlfriend Corrie Contreras); step-son, Kyle Marley (and girlfriend Allison Baumler); step-daughter and son-in-law, Brittany and Neil Sanderlin; grandchildren Sydney Young, Kaci Sue Combs, Sandra Combs, Taylor McCormick, Hailey Marley, Karma Randall, Payton Marley, Mila Sanderlin, Caleb Marley, Lia Marley, and Maximus Marley; brother and sister-in-law, Bryan and Denise Iglehart; sister, Linda Austin; sister and brother-in-law, Barbara and BJ Kirkpatrick; and nieces, Jamie Austin (and fiancée Anthony Asturi, and children Jayden and Jeighlynn), Jen Levin (and children Benjamin and Abby), Joy Austin (and fiancée Jeffrey Petrie), Lexie Iglehart (and fiancée Chase Goudie and their daughters Kyler and Kendall), Kayla Kirkpatrick, and Kennedy Kirkpatrick.
Ken was preceded in death by his parents, Bryan and Jean Iglehart; and his dear son, Kenneth Curran ("KC"--and his fiancée, Kendra Hoffman). We suspect they are all rejoicing at their heavenly reunion!
A memorial service will be held for Ken at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 10, 2018 at Bridgeway Church, 5201 East Warren Avenue, Denver, Colorado 80222.
