He is survived by his children-Shelley Davis and her husband Marty,Sherry Benda and her husband Joseph, Sheila Murphy, and Patrick Murphy and his wife Sarah; along with eight grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren and many extended family members.
Our Dad had a gift for connection and could make anyone feel at ease within moments. He was intelligent, gentle and kind with a playful spirit and a goofiness that could always make people smile.
He valued education and attended the University of Nebraska followed by the University of Wyoming. He worked in computer programming and had a strong interest in mathematics, science and reading. He found peace and joy in the mountains of Estes Park, where he enjoy golfing and hiking and spending time with his family and friends. Estes park held a special place in his heart and became the setting for many cherished family memories. He loved to tell stories with a "yada yada" or a "to dot to dot tada" always in ways that brought, laughter and lightness. His favorite greeting was "Howdy Howdy". He taught us through the way he lived,to be kind, to connect with others, and not to take life too seriously.
We will miss him deeply and carry his love, humor and spirit with us always.
