Survivors include his sister Jennifer Shepard and her husband Terry Mohr and her daughter Samantha Shepard. He was preceded in death by his mother Nancy Pleiman and father Richard Pleiman.
Kirk was a native of Denver, Colorado and attended Our Lady of Lourdes Elementary School. He graduated from South High School in 1986. He got his undergraduate degree (B.S.B.A) from the University of Denver where he also attended a year of graduate school. He got his bartending license from the Bartending Institute.
He started his career in banking as a teller, in 1991 in South Denver at First Federal Bank, he was promoted and earned the Robert Collier Award for Excellence. He wore many hats while working in banking as of 2022 he had been in banking for 31 years, 18 in training and 15 at the Community Banks of Colorado. In his early days he had a second job at Morgan’s Liquor Store to make ends meet where he stayed for 5 years.
Kirk loved guitar's, cars, watches, knives, antique furniture, anything KISS, Elvira, corgi puppies, and great food. His top 6 of cars were: DeTomaso Pantera, Lamborghini Countach, Lamborghini Espada, Pagani Hyuara, Corvette Grand Sport, and 1977-1981 Pontiac Trans Am especially the Bandit Editions. Breakfast burritos were his favorite he said if you want a good burrito then it has to have good meat, be juicy with chili, and have a spicy mouth feel. You could always know when it was good if he was red and sweating by the end of the meal.
The greatest band of all time is KISS in his opinion! He loved them since 1978. Then Y&T with front man Dave Menniketti, the guitarist from the original line up of white snake was a hero of his. Not to mention Stevie Ray Vaughn (or Stevie Rayon as Sammy would call him which he could never let her live down). other greats included: Sammy Hagar, Joe Bonnamossa, Tab Benoit, and Billy Gibbons of ZZ Top. Kirk had a deep love and connection to music something he learned from his late Uncle Nic. Something that he tried hard to share with everyone he met. The family encourages you to share that love.
Kirk was a son, brother, uncle, friend, teacher, inspiration and he will be greatly missed.
