Kristin Louise Courtney

Born on November 26, 1982 in Denver, Colorado, Kristin Louise (Kunz) Courtney touched the lives of those around her with her strength, resilience, and unwavering spirit. Kristin’s unexpected passing on 8/19/2024 came as a shock to her family, friends, and loved ones.

She is survived by her husband Dan Courtney, son Jayden (15 yrs) and daughter Brooklynn (9 yrs), parents Kirby and Patty Kunz, sister Alisha (Beth) McNalley, father and mother-in-law Harold and Pattie Courtney, brother-in-law Harold (Jody) Courtney, nephew Beau Courtney, several aunts, uncles, cousins, and close friends.

She attended Arvada West High School and Capella University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business, specializing in Human Resource Management. She was employed as the Director of Administration and Human Resources for W.E. O’Neil Construction since June of 2017.

Kristin married Dan Courtney of Arvada, on 6/28/08. Being a mother to Jayden and Brooklynn was where she truly shined. The family Kristin and Dan created was her biggest accomplishment. She loved attending her children’s sporting events, enjoyed camping, spending time at her family’s place in Grand Lake and was often the life of the party! Kristin was strong-willed, determined, and charismatic. She lived a vibrant life, she was a “Force of Nature” and still had so much ahead of her. She leaves behind her two amazing children who were her world and a loving husband who she always commented was “her person”. Her legacy of strength and love will live on in her children and cherished by all who had the privilege of sharing in her journey.

Memorial Service and Celebration of Life will be held Saturday. September 28th from 10:00 am – 1:00 pm at Olinger Crown Hill Mortuary & Cemetery.
