Lelia Celeste Wich, 72, of Morrison, Colorado, left us suddenly on July 24th. “Lil” was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She will be remembered for her love of her family, friends, rocks, puzzles, camping, fishing and “making blankies” (quilts).
Born on September 26, 1952 in Denver, Lil grew up as the only daughter of Leonard and Lorriane Rensink and sister to David Rensink. Her love for the mountains began in childhood when many days were spent there while her dad helped build the Eisenhower Tunnel.
While working in the offices of Gates Rubber Company, she met the love of her life, Walter Wich in 1975. As a single mom to Matthew Peterson, she and Walter were married on November 29th, 1976. Walter was raising his 2 daughters, Dawna and Taylar and a beautiful blended family was born. Walter and Lil were married for 48 years and enjoyed their retirement years travelling and spending time together.
After leaving Gates Rubber Company, Lil worked for Hewlett Packard and then Agilent Technologies. She enjoyed the IT world and became a trainer and teacher in her field.
Lil is survived by her husband, Walter Wich, son, Matthew Peterson, 2 stepdaughters, Dawna Sanders and Taylar Porter, as well as grandchildren, Andrew Sanders, Bryn Sanders, Keegan Apsey, and Kaitlyn Apsey. Her Great grandchildren include Levi Sanders, Aaron Sanders, Gracie Sanders and Osiris Sanders-Barker.
A service to celebrate Lil’s life will be held on August 7th at 11am with a viewing from 10-11am at Crown Hill Chapel, 7777 West 29th Ave, Wheatridge, CO.
