While playing golf one day leon came up to me and asked if I was , Al  Potarfs  son. (Al gave him his first job after Leon came home from ww 2)  a couple months later Al gave him a Christmas bonus of $100 which was a lot of $ in the 1940’s) 
Leon said every Christmas he and his wife remembered my dad’s generosity  and said a prayer for him.

Leon "Curly" White was my older, and most times my wiser, brother.  I was probably about 16 years old when Leon caught me trying to smoke.  He destroyed the cigarettes and gave me a very serious lecture on the bad effects of smoking on your body.  I have never smoked since and I thank Leon for  his challenge to me.

Leon loved golf and challenged me to try to play. I responded by telling him that golf was an "old man's" game. Well here I am an "old man" and I love playing golf. Once again some good advise from my brother.

When Leon entered the Navy, I was, and am, still very proud of his service , integrity and concern for people.   He will be greatly missed.  He is at home in heaven with our Heavenly Father.
