Leonard "Lenny" Ray Anthony, age 86, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on Thursday, May 12, 2022. His unexpected passing was due to complications from injuries sustained during an automobile accident.
Lenny was born August7, 1935 in Southside California to George and opal Anthony. Shortly after his birth the family moved to Texas. They lived in Texas until he was around 9 years old, after which, they settled in Colorado. After graduating high school, Lenny enlisted in the Navy, where he proudly served his country from 1953- 1957 as a Machinist Mate Petty Officer on the USS Boxer CV-21 and USS Princeton CV-37. In 1958, Lenny met and married Laura Baird (mother to Chuck), where they moved back to Colorado. He continued using his skill as a machinist and landed a job working for thr Morse Chain Company. Afetr his divorce from Laura, Lenny met Rosalie French and was married to her in 1960. Rosalie and lenny had three children ( Michael, Darryl,and Lynnell) and were married until her untimely passing in 1988. Later and through mutual friends , Lenny found love once again after being introduced to Nora Imus.They were married December 7, 1991, residing since then in Englewood, Colorado. Lenny became a father to Nora's two Children( Terry and Tawnya).
Lenny was also a business entrepreneur starting a metal fabrication company in the 1970s with his brother Ted. They ran this business for many years, where they developed and patented a pipe plugging device. They later sold he business to enjoy some well deserved retirement.
Lenny was a fun, outgoing, kind hearted man who enjoyed life to the fullest and had a wicked sense of humor. He was a hobbiest extraordinaire, sharing his amazing hobbies with his friends and family.He loved restoring and building classic cars, riding his motorcycle, woodworking, metalworking, golfing, he loved to travel, and play his favorite billiards. He was a master mind behind a pool cue, ever so elegantly calculating each shot with near precision, clearing the table before you could even take a shot. Lenny also won several awards for these hobbies. He won awards playing pool tournaments,he won awards for his craftsmanship on his 1934 Ford "4Rosi" and he won a contest for being a close look alike for Salvador Dali.
He was preceded in death by his aprents George and Opal; siblings Elaine and Danny; and former wife Rosalie.
He is survived by his wife Nora L (Imus) Anthony; his former wife Laura Baird; his children Tawnya (Travis) Thurow, Terry (Tara) Flemings, Charles "Chuck" Anthony,Michael (Tamara) Anthony, Darryl (Kim) Anthony, and Lynnell (Todd) Nicholson; grandchildren Kristi (William), Camille, Makayla, Justin (Alina), Ryan (Chelsea) , Jacob, Dustin (Ashley), Kyle, Meghan, Danyell, Riley, Ian, Ambyr, and Brandon; great grandchildren Freya, Alaric, Aryanna, and Skylar; and siblings Barbara, Ted, and Jimmy .
Lenny will be deeply missed by all who knew him and to celebrate his life the family will be hosting a "Celebration of Life" at the family residence on August 7, 2022. 4680 S. Acoma St. Englewood, CO.
