Born in North Platte Nebraska on March 30th 1926 and attended North Platte High School. As a youth, he joined the Boy Scouts and earned every merit badge that the boy scouts offered at that time and worked to attain the highest level of Eagle Scout.
As a senior in high school and wanting to help with the war effort, he took the test to be a Navy fighter Pilot and was accepted. He was sent to California to begin college classes and to start flying lessons and training as a Navy Officer. In 1945 the war came to an end and suddenly the Navy no longer needed pilots and LeRoy was given an honorable discharge from the Navy.
He moved back to North Platte and married his high school sweet heart Jacqueline "Jackie" Patchen; then moved to Lincoln to finish college. After College they moved to Washington State and then back to North Platte for a short time before moving to Colorado where he has made his home. LeRoy had 4 sons with his wife Jackie.
LeRoy went to work for Joe Alpert's in downtown Denver in the uniform department in 1955 and worked his way to being the manager of the uniform department. In early 1980 LeRoy was offered an opportunity to purchase the uniform division of Joe Alpert's. In May of 1980 with the help of his family, he incorporated his own business known as Neve's Uniforms Inc. at I-70 and Pecos in Denver. During the time he owned the company he added 2 additional stores, one in SD and one in NM before retiring from the business and turning it over to his sons.
LeRoy was an active member of the Masons, El Jebel Tanzers and the Elks, and served as the Vice President of the Board of Officers of the El Jebel Tanzers in the years 2010-2012.
In later years LeRoy enjoyed dancing, dining and traveling and in particular he loved ballroom dancing. LeRoy passed away quietly with family by his side at St. Anthony's Hospital on January 10th 2014, and today, we are sure he is dancing in heaven.
He was preceded in death by his wife Jacqueline Lee Neve and his grandson Kenneth L. Neve.
