Margaret Perez

Margaret Gallegos Perez, age 79, of Denver went home to be with her Lord and Savior, on June 10, 2016. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, sister, auntie and a dear friend to many. She was born on June 4, 1937, in Johnstown, Colorado, to Emilio and Barbarita Gallegos. As a young girl, she grew up in the small town of Berthoud, Colorado. Where she met and married Solomon Perez on December 28, 1952, in Berthoud, Colorado.

She spent many years as a homemaker raising her seven children before she worked outside of the home. She was a wonderful cook, and we all enjoyed her delicious food, especially her green chili. Her hobbies were crocheting beautiful blankets, and embroidering dishtowels for her family and friends. She worked at Presbyterian Medical Center where she had retired from with over 20 years of service. Attending The Foursquare Churches and Assembly of God Churches for many years where she would sing songs of worship and study the word of God. When her health prevented her from attending church she still worshiped God from her home. It was through her faith in God that her children would come to know the Lord as their Savior. She had such a great sense of humor, that she would have us shaking with laughter until tears rolled down our cheeks.

She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Solomon Perez; daughters, Barbara Rodriguez (Joe Jr.), Juanita Molinar, (Roger), Johanna Goya (Greg), Julie Stein (Bob), Dianna Castro (Jesse); sons, Solomon Perez (Sandra), and Mark Perez. Also survived by a brother Ernest Gallegos, and a sister Mary “Naya” Gallegos. She is survived by 16 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends also survive her. She is preceded in death by her parents Emilio and Barbarita Gallegos; brothers, Albino, Lee, Julian, Joe, Emilio Gallegos; sisters, Sarah Gallegos, Albina Bailey, and Tillie Gallegos.

Public Visitation will be 2:00 pm – 6:00 pm Saturday, June 18, 2016, Olinger Crown Hill Mortuary, 7777 W. 29th Ave., Wheat Ridge, CO. 80033.

Celebration of Life Ceremony will be Sunday, June 19, 2016, 9:30 am – 10:30 am, Pavilion of Reflection, Olinger Crown Hill Mortuary & Cemetery, 7777 W. 29th Ave., Wheat Ridge, CO. 80033.

Special thanks to: Brenda Gonzalez, CNA, David, CNA, Melissa, RN, and Jackie, RN, Dr. Peterson of INNOVAGE, for the attention and care given to our Mama. It was because of our love for her, that we her children kept her at home, where we cared for her the last days of her life on earth. Until we see her again, and she opens the door, we will miss her!
