On December 16, 2020, Marie Cain, 101, traveled to the gardens of Heaven to join all of those who left this world before her. She is, assuredly, already sitting with her husband, Joseph Cain, and her grandson, Patrick Malone, playing cards and holding one of her numerous puppies on her lap.
It is not surprising that Marie, born on September 7, 1919, was a strong and spicy woman. After all, she was born during the Spanish Flu pandemic on a small farm outside Fort Madison, IA. She lived through The Great Depression, World War II, numerous other wars, and a plethora of social unrest. She came full circle in her life and passed during the COVID 19 pandemic.
Marie is survived by her son, Donald and wife (Beverly) Cain; daughter, Barbara Trenam; grandchildren David, Sherry, Steve, Terry, and Brian; 17 great grandchildren and 11 great, great, grandchildren (with one more arriving this spring).
Marie was an intelligent person who cared deeply for her family and friends. We love you and miss you.
