Marlene Province Hodder

Marlene P. Hodder, age 90, of Golden, Colorado passed away on Friday, March 17, 2023. She is preceded in death by her husband Donald W. Hodder, son Michael B. Hodder and grandson Michael A.Barilovich. She is survived by her children; Don Hodder, Richard Hodder, Kim Neitenbach, Kris Horn, Ann Bariovich and Kendra Lijoi, 16 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.

Marlene graduated from Otterbein University with a degree in Music and from Colorado State University with a Masters Degree in Administration. She taught music for Jefferson County Public Schools and was Assistant Principal for one year in the Aurora Public Schools. After retiring she enjoyed her family, gardening and a volunteer teaching music and reading to children at neighboring schools. She enjoyed family gatherings and going to Curves and coffee with friends. Marlene was a member of P.E.O., an organization that financially supports women furthering their education. Her strong faith in the saving work of Jesus Christ drove her to always be involved in Christian Education and Youth at the churches she attended.

A memorial service will be held Tuesday, April 11, 2023 at 3:00 pm at Applewood Baptist Church, 11200 W 32nd Ave, Wheat Ridge, CO 80033.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in honor of Marlene to the Educational Loan Fund, (E.L.F.), Chapter EO, Denver, via PEOINternational org, Giving Opportunities.
