On Thursday, October 20th, 2022, Marvin J. Johnson, a beloved husband, devoted father, and great friend passed away. He was fifty-two. Born to Lizzie M. Parker & Willie A. Johnson, Marvin graduated from Randolph Clay High School in Cuthbert, GA in 1989. After graduating, he joined the United States Army where he proudly served his country. After his enlistment, with an honorable discharge, Marvin furthered his education in criminal justice where he developed a love and passion for law enforcement. As he continued his studies, Marvin worked for Homeland Security, FEMA, the Social Security Administration Office in the State of Colorado, and local security firms as a security officer.
With an optimistic vision for his future, Marvin took over a failing security firm which had abandoned its staff and contract. With very little money and faith as small as a mustard seed, he started his own security company, American Eagle Protective Services LLC at the Mile High Flea Market. As an entrepreneur and small business owner, along with his wife, they provided jobs and created opportunities for people who needed a second chance. He was passionate about the growth and expansion of their business. They now have several employees and support local and worldwide security companies throughout the Aurora/Denver, Colorado region since 2013.
When Marvin wasn’t hard at work he enjoyed gardening and spending time with his family and friends, as well as, his car collection and was a die hard “Jets” fan. He was active in protecting his local community, as well as, volunteered for I-9 Sports as a youth football coach. Marvin was selfless and compassionate, often putting the needs of others before his own. He’s never met a stranger and would give the shirt off his back to anyone who was in need.
Despite his life being tragically cut short at the age of fifty-two, he’s made his mark on the world and became the change he wanted to see. Marvin would want us all to move on. He would want us to keep the faith, rise above our problems, get out of our comfort zone, and be courageous. He would want us to continue chasing our dreams, laugh often, and love unconditionally as he’s done. He might be gone from our presence, but he will always remain in our hearts. His jovial spirit will live on because it now lives in us. Marvin loved the bald eagle; one could only imagine why? Could it be because of its fearless nature, refusal to seek shelter in times of a storm, and daring instead to fly above it? This storm we're facing now is difficult and will be for months to come, but we can and will rise above it because “Eagle-One” has given us the strength to soar.
Marvin was preceded in death by his parents Willie & Lizzie Johnson, his beloved brothers and sisters Willie Johnson Jr., Lawrence Johnson Sr., Willie A. Davis, Mary A. Johnson, Carolyn D. Johnson, and Martha Q. Allen.
Marvin leaves to cherish his memories, especially his loving & devoted wife Patricia K Johnson, and children; Kuonteisha Johnson, Marvin Amoni Johnson, Christopher A Johnson, Sergio Williams, Dakota Chambless & Naomi Williams. Last, but not least, his favorite puppy “Bentley”. His surviving siblings Betty (Wilma) Shingles, Edward Johnson, Carey Johnson, Eddie Johnson, Barbara (Antonio) Hill, Bobby Johnson, and Connie (Booker) Downie.
