Born on October 18, 1995, in Denver, Colorado, Mauritzio brought color, compassion, and creativity into the lives of all who knew him.
A gifted artist, Mauritzio poured his soul into his work, using his art to tell stories, express emotion, and connect with others. Whether through paint, sketches, or mixed media, his creations reflected a depth of thought and feeling that resonated far beyond the canvas.
Mauritzio is preceded in death by his brother, Tomas Thornwall.
He is survived by his loving mother, Consuelo Garcia, and father, Travis Thornwall; his fiancée, Anita Pinelli and beloved stepson, Isaiah Pinelli; his siblings, Hunter Lunsford (Nikita Lunsford), Jenny Vargas, and Ryan Thornwall; his loving grandparents, Laura Davidson and James Bieshaar. He was a proud uncle to nephews Cayden Thornwall and Tomas Lunsford, and nieces, Evangeline Lunsford and Esther Cardenas — each of whom brought him great joy. He also leaves behind many family members and friends who loved him dearly.
Mauritzio’s unique spirit, creativity, and kindness will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
A funeral service to honor and celebrate Mauritzio’s life will be held on October 11, 2025, at Crown Hill Cemetery, where loved ones will gather to remember his life and legacy.
