Here is a pictures of my 57 Chevy, like the one Mike had in high school. He had much wider Cragar wheels, since he cut the rear fenders (to fit the wider tires).  Boy was his Dad mad when he cut the rear quarter panels to fit the bigger tires.   Did Mike still have his 57 Chevy?  I hope so.

 Mike was born on July 19th and I was born on July 21st. We turned 18 almost at the same time; so we both lived at "After the Gold Rush" .  Every night after work we both went to the Rush together (until Feb75; when I joined the Navy).     All our money went for $3.00 pitchers of 3.2 beer. Good times.

Mike's Dad was also in the U.S. Navy. ....... Also a great guy.

I just found out about the passing for Mike back in Dec2020. Sorry to hear that. He and I were good friends in High School.  Drifted apart once I joined the U.S. Navy. I kept meaning to reach out to him to reconnect.  He had a Black 1957 2 door hard top Chevy in High School.  I had a 57 Chevy Nomad and still have it along with a car exactly like Mike's; a 2 door black 57 Belair, I bought many many years ago.  Every time I drove it I thought of Mike and wondered if he still had his 57. Mike was a great guy.  So sad to see him go; a great loss.  I read his favorite place was San Diego,CA. I've been living  very close from San Diego for the past ~30 years in Mission Viejo,CA.   Life is short, we shouldn't delay reaching out to the people we care about.

I remember when I first started on the railroad, Mike and I were called on July 4th for a west helper. We were light power on our way to Tabernash and decided to stop our locomotive just above Plainview to watch all the fireworks around the city of Denver. Was quite a sight to see and all I was thinking, was this is awesome being able to stop anyplace you want to watch fireworks. Not sure what excuse he used to stop, but the train we were going to help had a little delay while we enjoyed the fireworks. Mike was a pleasure  to work with.

 As a co- worker on the railroad,  as many of us are,  worked with him and always enjoyed his company. I, like others,  am sad that he didn't get the chance to have a few more years of life.
My favorite memory was he bought a jeep with some rust and how he welded diamond shaped steel to replace the rusted portions and painted it. All in his garage. Rest in peace!

So sorry for your loss. I worked with Mike for many years in the moffat.  He was a pleasure to work and be with.  All of our thoughts and prayers to the family

I worked with Mike very early in our long careers moving locomotives around. After that I would occasionally run across him in the course of our jobs. He was one of the best people I’ve ever had the good fortune of knowing. I feel for his family and friends over this sudden passing. May your memories of his life carry you through this tough time.

Mike was truly one of the best and nicest guys that I had the pleasure to work with.  I worked with his father and had him work with me as my fireman on many trips.  I am so sad that his life ended so soon.  My thoughts and prayers are with his family and children in these difficult times.

My  sincerest condolences to the family.  Mike was one of my dad’s great friends and I have many childhood memories of Mike and his kids growing up spending time together and hanging out. I know he and my dad are hanging out again together.
