age of 95 following a battle with dementia.
She was born on August 13, 1929 in Nevada, Missouri. She was adopted by Burt and Essie Lawton and spent her childhood in Denver, Colorado. Norma graduated from West High School and went to a Bible School in St. Louis, Missouri where she met, and fell in love with, John Patrick. They married in Denver on Saturday, the 29th of October, 1949. Eventually, they settled in Colorado Springs, where they began raising two sons, Jim and Gary, and John worked as an adjuster for a moving company. In 1963, the family moved to Denver, where Norma held a position with the City and County of Denver as the Accounts Receivable Clerk for Denver General Hospital. She also served in the Denver area Christian Women’s Club leadership. In the last several years, Norma moved to Montana to be close to her son Jim and several of her grandchildren. Norma’s faith in her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, was the foundation of her life. Even when her mind had failed, she still took comfort in the name of Jesus until the day she died.
