His parents were Robert and Mabel Alexander. Robert Alexander served as a Methodist minister in eastern Kansas for 43 years.
Paul was a proud Eagle Scout and Scoutmaster for ten years. He held Philmont, Order of the Arrow, and Wood Badge honors.
Paul graduated from Baker University in 1956 and served a tour of duty in France with the US Army.
Paul met Anne Rosamond Stone at Baker University and they married in October 1956. They moved to Denver, Colorado in early 1959 and had a daughter, Jean Elizabeth, in June 1959. Anne passed away in April 1960.
On a blind date in 1962, Paul met Marilynne Ruth Krause, and in August 1962 they married in Sioux City, Iowa where Marilynne grew up. They had a son, Andrew Tyler, in October 1964.
The Alexander family joined Lutheran Church of the Master (LCM) in Lakewood, Colorado on Palm Sunday 1965. Paul led a robust life with LCM. Throughout the years, he held every position on the Executive Council, many of them more than once. He led countless educational seminars on the life of Martin Luther by presenting his life in the first person - and in “costume” - to truly bring him to life for his audiences.
Paul was blessed with three grandchildren and two great granddaughters.
Paul had a very successful career in finance and was recognized as Credit Executive of the year by Rocky Mountain Chapter of National Association of Credit Management in 1993. Paul retired as Director of Credit for Kwal Paint at the end of 2003.
After retirement, Paul traveled the world with his wife Marilynne, enjoying many cruises to various ports of the world. He was an avid reader and historian with a passion for studying American history. He spent many years in continued service to his home community, volunteering for the Jefferson County Action Center. He enjoyed all Colorado has to offer including day hikes in the mountains, cycling with his wife, and loved to see the Broncos win.
Paul would be pleased to know you celebrated his life by raising a glass of scotch in a toast to a life well lived.
If attending the services on the 18th, Paul expressed a desire for everyone to wear bright colors.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his name to the Jefferson County Action Center or Heifer International.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.CrownHillFuneral.com for the Alexander family.
