Born in Greeley, Colorado, on August 1, 1957, she was the daughter of the late Alfred (Chapo) and Jennie (Chana) Garcia. She grew up in Platteville, Colorado, with her 10 biological siblings and 2 adopted siblings.
Percy had an incredible gift of knowing how and when to help those around her, often through her artistry, intuition, and spiritual insight. Percy saw, and drew out, the best in those around her. By embracing herself fully and openly, Percy has given strength to others and helped them to feel understood and loved unconditionally. In addition to being kind, Percy was also immensely witty. She was always making people laugh, especially her grandchildren. Percy had an affinity for children and was a cherished auntie and grandma. Percy was silly, faithful, honest, and only knew how to love one way – with all her heart.
Percy is survived by her wife Cathy Stone; her stepchildren Charles (Melissa) Kline, Carolyn (Joshua) Ikenouye, Kevin Kline, and Kathryne (Tyler) Benson; her siblings Sylvester (Jennie) Garcia, MaryAnn Garcia, Carmen (Juan) Rodriguez, Susan Garcia, Patsy Raya, John (Irene) Garcia, Barbara Garcia, Margie Farmer, and Liz Garcia; as well as hundreds of cousins, nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great-nieces and nephews and her 3 beloved dogs. She was preceded in death by her parents Alfred and Jennie, and her eldest brother Sonny.
