

Radon was born in 1937 to Ruth Lavon Miller and A. Ray Tolman. After being raised in Utah, he went on to attend the University of Colorado and the University of Utah where in 1962 he graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Radon’s career was devoted to the development of renewable energy and his work allowed him to live in many places in the Western U.S., including Utah, California, New Mexico and Colorado. He was the founder and president of several renewable energy companies, including Enrecon, Inc., and Environmental Energy Systems, Inc. He is the author of numerous technical publications in the fields of waste-to-energy conversion systems and technologies, and holds four patents, two as co-inventor. In 1980 Radon was awarded an honorary degree in Engineering Management from University of Missouri at Rolla.
He was an ardent peace activist and he enjoyed all things political. For the past nine years, Radon and his wife of twenty-six years, Kathy, spent most every Saturday on a corner in Arvada protesting against the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Radon is survived by his loving wife, ten children, twenty grandchildren, one great grandchild and nine sisters and brothers.
A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on December 8, 2012, in the Pavilion of Reflection located on the grounds of Olinger Crown Hill Mortuary & Cemetery, 7777 W. 29th Avenue, Wheat Ridge, Colorado 80033. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the charity of your choice.
