Richard “Gregg” Gregory passed away on September 13, 2012. Born and raised in Oklahoma, Gregg met his future bride, Alma Williamson, during their senior year of high school. He enlisted in the Air Force, and in 1956 he and Alma were married; a union that lasted for 56 years. He firmly believed in doing his best; in honoring his commitments, in helping his fellow man. He was devoted to Alma and their three children, and always put their needs ahead of his, giving everything he had in order to provide for them without complaint.
Gregg served his country with a distinguished military career for 22 years, including tours in Guam, Viet Nam and the Philippine Islands. He retired to Denver, Colorado from the military in the early seventies, then worked as the Maintenance Department Supervisor for Buckingham Square Shopping Mall for another twenty-odd years. After his second retirement Gregg remained active. He enjoyed yard work and gardening, tinkering in the garage, and woodworking. He was always ready to lend a hand to a neighbor, or just lean on the fence and chat for a while.
He was thrilled when his first grandchild was born, and enjoyed doing things with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren whenever possible. He loved to help them climb a tree or ride a bike, work on a project with them or attend the special events in their lives. Friend or stranger, he was always ready to help someone out if he could.
Gregg was widely loved and respected, and he absence is already deeply felt.
Gregg is survived by his loving wife; Alma, daughters; Carolyn Jo &(Lynn A.) Osburn, and Katherine Rene &(Mark) Edgar, son; Randal Gregory (Laura Williams-Gregory), grandchildren; Paul &(Kirsten) Osburn, Sheri &(Jimmy) Lawler, Elise Osburn, Daniel, Kevin, and Lacie Edgar, Charls and Hailey Williams, Reilly Gregory, great grandchildren; Alex and Jackson Lawler, Ayden Osburn, and Serenity Manheim.
Visitation will be held Wednesday evening from 4pm to 7pm at Olinger Crown Hill Mortuary. A Celebration of Gregg's Life will be held on Thursday, September 20, 2012, 11am, in the Chapel of Peace located on the grounds of Olinger Crown Hill Mortuary & Cemetery.
