

Richard James Stoddart died at 82 on June 2, 2025, after a brave several months' long battle against cancer. Richard was born in Oshkosh, Wisconsin where he lived until the family moved to Southern California when he was 10 years old.
He earned his Bachelor of Science Degree at the University of California. After four years in the Air Force Richard was hired on as an aerospace engineer for Ball and then MacDonnell Douglas in California. He transferred to Martin Marietta in Denver for a position as Chief Software Engineer. It was there he met his wife Barbara Sue Stoddart.
In 1988 he moved to San Diego, California to manage the company's merger with General Dynamics. He and Barbara married in 1989 and moved to Ramona, California. They were married for 36 years.
Richard was an active member of Ramona United Methodist Church and Kiwanis. He loved his Shih Tzus, Tiny and Bear, and took them camping by the ocean.
Richard was predeceased by his mother, Dorothy (Dreheim) Stoddart and father James Stoddart; in addition to his step sons, Jimmy and David Cash. Survivors include his wife Barbara as well as cousins Kathy and Brad Kupfer, Linda Rose Draheim and Ken and Darlene Draheim.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, August 16, 2025, at 11:00 am at Green Mountain United Methodist Church, (12755 W. Cedar Dr, Lakewood CO 80228), followed by a lunch.
