Robbie Gid Guthrie died at 79 years old peacefully in the early morning of June 10th 2020. Robbie (Tex) was the son of Jeff and Allene Guthrie, born in Pampa Texas on August 31, 1940. At the age of seven they moved around from town to town as his dad Jeff was a Sheriff until finally landing in North Denver at the age of 12.
He loved singing, playing the guitar and trumpet in a band as a teenager continuing to play in clubs into his 30’s. He was in the US Navy active duty as a Gunners Mate from 1962-1964 and remained in the reserves until 1967. He was married nearly 50 years to Sharon where they raised their 4 children in Broomfield, CO and spent their last 30 years together in Thornton, CO. Robbie worked for Western Davis and Qwest. He was a member of Northglenn Elks. Rob and Sharon enjoyed golfing, bowling, camping and the Denver Broncos.
He is preceded in death by his daughter, Kerri Peterson; his parents, Jeff and Allene Guthrie; and his sister, Patty Evans.
He is survived by his wife, Sharon Guthrie, his son, Steven Guthrie, and daughters; Jennifer (Dondi) John and Tonja (Matthew) Esquibel, and his sister, Anna Lou (Larry) Brock.
He also leaves behind his grandchildren; Robyn (Patrick) Mason, Heidi John, Meg (Josh) Hosford, Ashley (Seth) Adrian, Ally (Josh) Bernard, Jacqueline (Aaron) Teske, Justus Peterson, Brandon (Cedar) John, Taylor Peterson, Glenn John, Isabella Guthrie, Elizabeth Guthrie, and Caleb Guthrie; and great grandchildren; Nevaeh, Peyton, Carson, Gauge, Logan, Shiloh, Charlotte, Cambree, Olivia, Penelope, Brooklynn and Rylee.
