Robert Clifton Saffell

Robert C. Saffell, age 88 formerly of Winter Park, Colorado, passed away February 24, 2017 in Denver, Colorado. Robert was born April 29, 1928 in Indianapolis, Indiana. He grew up in Seymour, Indiana. Robert attended West Point Academy and is a veteran of the United States Army serving in the Korean War, where he was the recipient of the Bronze Star Medal. Following his discharge from the Army he went into sales and was Vice President of Sales for INA Insurance Company. In 1968 he moved the family to Denver and worked in Real Estate Ranch Brokerage for Previews. In 1985 he purchased one of the first Coldwell Banker franchises, located in Winter Park, Colorado. Robert was a former member of Trinity Lutheran Church where he was an Elder and past President of the Congregation. He was also a member of the National Western Stock show and the Evergreen Rodeo Association. He was an incredible father and family man and especially enjoyed attending his grandkids sporting events, fishing trips with his boy’s and spending time with his friends and family in the Rocky Mountains. Robert is survived by his children: Dennis R. Saffell and wife Cyndie Saffell, Rick Saffell, and Beth Romero and husband Kevin Romero; grandchildren: Sean and Erik Saffell, Colton, Donna Paige and Lauren Romero. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Donna L. Saffell and brother Jim Hiner. Visitation will be Thursday, March 2, 2017 from 1:00-2:00pm; graveside service will be at 2:00pm both at Olinger Crown Hill Mortuary and Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations are preferred in Robert’s name to Grand Foundation P.O. Box 1342 Winter Park, CO 80482.
