Rod has lived his whole life in Colorado. He was a 1986 graduate of Wheat Ridge High School. Rod was a patrolman with the Denver Police Department for 18 years. He was most recently employed at ICare Ambulance, where he was an Organ Transplant Specialist. On December 13, 2013, Rod received the gift of life, a double lung transplant. He was an advocate of organ donation and volunteered at Donor Alliance. Rod was surrounded by his family as he went to his heavenly home on December 9, 2020. He was able to give the gift of life through his organ donations. Rod was loved by many including his daughters, Victoria {Will} and Gabrielle {Edwin} and his wife Kimberly. He also had his mom Dorris, and siblings & their families; Mary (Tork, Karen, & Karl), Tim (Kristy, Justin {Laurel, CeCe & Eli}, Brian, Jessica and Stephanie {Blaze}) and Nancy (Brett, Olivia and Steven). His extended family included Kim’s mom Farol, and her siblings & their families; Heather, and Harold (Carolyn & Carson {Taylor, Amaya & Alexander}). He was welcomed into heaven by his dad (Jack), his niece (Katie), his father in-law (Harry) and his dear friend Cayde. Rod will be missed by all who knew him.
A celebration of life will be at 2PM Thursday, December 17, 2020, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, located at 2100 Wadsworth Blvd., Lakewood 80214. The service will be live streamed. A live stream link will be provided here soon.
