Sue Carol Claps (Rediess), age 80, passed away on June 12, 2023, at Lutheran Hospice in Wheatridge, CO. She was born on February 1, 1943, in North Denver. Sue was the beloved wife of Steve Claps and the loving mother of three sons, one of whom preceded her in death, Dean Claps. Sue was preceded in death by her parents, Mary Bailey and Fred Rediess, and her grandmother, Ruth Bailey. She is survived by her husband, Steve, her two sons, Gene (Pam) Claps and Don (Cindy) Claps, 5 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild, sisters Linda Aucoin, Nancy Smith and Barbara Owens and a brother Samuel Rediess.
Sue worked as an office manager for the family-owned business, Adcol Sales and Rental. She was known for her kindness, care, and love towards others. She loved to cook for her family and often made them her famous spaghetti and meatballs. Her hobbies included scrapbooking, painting, beading and spending summer free time in Grand Lake at their cabin. Sue worshipped at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Thornton, CO, and Northern Hills in Brighton, CO.
A visitation for Sue will be held Friday, June 23, 2023 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM with a funeral service at 10:00 AM. The entombment committal service will take place at 11:00 AM followed by a reception from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM all at Olinger Crown Hill, 7777 West 29th Avenue, Wheat Ridge, CO 80033.
