It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Susan Lakos, a devoted wife, loving mother, and dear friend. Susie passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, leaving behind a legacy of love, kindness, and cherished memories.
Susie's love story with her husband Mike began in an unexpected way. One evening, neither of them felt like going out, but their friends insisted, and that night changed their lives forever. Susie gave Mike her phone number and he picked her up for lunch the next day and from there, their connection grew into a deep and lasting love. Their whirlwind romance soon led to marriage, and their lives together were marked by their strong friendship and unwavering bond.
In 1990, Susie and Mike made the decision to purchase the home she was renting from her parents. After Mike sold his mobile home and with Susie's determination, including selling her two cows, they were able to make it their Home. It was in this home that they raised their two sons, Dillon and Tyler, creating a lifetime of memories. Tyler, tragically, passed away in 2022 at the age of 27, but his memory will always live on in the hearts of those who loved him. Dillon, their firstborn, continues to carry the spirit of his mother and the values she has instilled in him.
Susie was a dedicated and caring person who always put others first. Her deep connection with her cousin and best friend, Laura, was one of the highlights of her life. The love and care she showed Laura were constant and unwavering, a testament to her generous heart. After the passing of her father Bill, Susie grew closer to her mother Bobbie and was her rock. They spent time together shopping, and happily recounting stories of the past.
Susie's generosity, warmth, and sense of humor touched everyone she met. Her home was always filled with love, laughter, and the welcoming spirit that she embodied. Susie's memory will forever be cherished by her husband Mike, her son Dillon, the memory of her son Tyler, and her family and friends who had the privilege of knowing her and lucky enough to call her Friend.
Susie's spirit was one of resilience, warmth, and joy. Her love for her family was unwavering, and her bond with her friends was filled with loyalty and kindness. Her spirit lives on through the stories, the love, and the profound impact she made in the lives of those she touched and will continue to guide her family and friends in the years to come.
May Susie rest in peace, knowing that her love and light will remain in the hearts of those she left behind.
