Tamara Lynn Knopp, 68, of Richmond, CA passed away February 20, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of creativity, warmth and a vibrant spirit. Born on October 1, 1957, in Berkeley, CA, she was the daughter of the late Ben and Mavis Knopp.
After graduating from Wheat Ridge High School, Tamara studied art at Colorado State University and overseas in Vienna, Austria. She worked as an interior design/planning and project manager on many real estate development projects in Colorado, leaving her mark before moving to her new home in Richmond, CA. She built an impressive career as an interior design/facilities planning expert with local companies, including PG&E, Chiron, and Novartis.
Tamara lived with intention and passion; she found peace and expression practicing the art of Ikebana and carried a lifelong curiosity for nature and spirituality, expressing her talents through painting and pottery. Tamara had an uncompromising pursuit of quality. She loved spending time with her family and dearest friends. She enjoyed playing volleyball, sailboarding, and riding her horse, Big Jimmy John. She cherished her frequent visits to Colorado to visit family and loved playing tour guide for relatives visiting the Bay Area.
She is lovingly survived by her sister Julie O’Neil; brothers Steven (Diane) Knopp, Rob (Cathy Bucknum) Knopp; her nieces Nicholle and McKenzie; nephews Kevin (Kristin Sachse) and Tyler. A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
