Thomas E. Dame passed away at his home on April 04, 2018. He was born in Plattsburgh, NY, March 19, 1943, the son of Earl Joseph Dame, and Gertrude Reha Baker-Dame. Tom attended school in Plattsburgh along with his siblings, many cousins, and friends. Tom worked alongside his Dad in the home improvement business. After his Dads passing, Tom enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. His basic training was in Paris Island, SC. He was then sent to Vietnam. During his two tours, he was injured and exposed to Agent Orange while on the front lines of battle. He was a leader in heavy artillery and received awards for his performance, including the Purple Heart. Soon after his discharge, Tom married Louvilla Wickware in Shawnee, OK. They resided in Plattsburgh for several years as they started their family.
Tom went into business for his self and served on the Zoning Board in his community. He took pride in being a part of building the Lake Shore Baptist Church where he alongside his family attended. He loved to fellowship with many military families from the local AF SAC Base. In 1976, Tom moved his family to Colorado where he worked in the Denver Metro area for over 30 years. He raised his children in Aurora, CO. He was known in the neighborhood as "Papa Dame" by his children's classmates. He later moved to Fort Lupton, CO, to be near more family. By 2004, his health was declining and he continued to keep busy while he was able. Tom loved to sing! He sang in the church choir, especially fond of gospel music. In early 2018, Tom moved to Tomball, TX to be near more family and for a more positive environment for his respiratory ailments.
Tom was blessed to raise five children: a daughter, Margaret Buck-Ruybal (Andrew), of Fort Lupton, CO and four sons: David Dame (Kim), Franktown, CO, Matthew Dame (Marnie), Fort Collins, CO, Douglas Dame (Lisa), Spring, TX, and Johnathan Dame (Joey), Parker, CO. Tom has five grandsons: Jacob, Joshua, Jack, Jesse, and Aiden Dame. Seven granddaughters: Kendra, Taylor, Kersten, Reagan, Karlen, Maddie, and Makayla.
Tom is survived by two brothers: Richard Dame, Lutz, FL, and Errol Dame, Plattsburgh, NY. Three sisters: Beverly Dame Forget, Plattsburgh, NY, Sandra Dame Ryan, Beekmantown, NY, and Brenda Dame McCloe, of Plattsburgh. He enjoyed many great times with nine nephews and nine nieces!
He is proceeded in death by his mother and father. He has joined several loved ones in his heavenly home with his Lord and Savior.
