Timothy James McCandless was born January 11, 1951, to James Irvin and Carolyn McCandless in Denver, Colorado. He grew up in Southeast Denver and graduated from George Washington High School in 1969. In 1975, he graduated from Colorado State University and it was there, during his last semester that he met Margaret. He and Margaret married in 1977 and moved to Westminster, Colorado, where they lived the rest of their married life.Tim and Margaret had two sons, Daniel James McCandless and Kevin Michael McCandless. Tim was always very involved in the boys activities and took the family camping, hiking,and skiing. He was a Cub Scout Leader for both boys.
Tim worked as a water engineer for most of his career. His hobbies included hiking, traveling, geology, and later in life golfing. After the grandchildren came, he enjoyed visiting and playing with them.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret and sons Dan and Kevin; his daughters- in- law Amy and Cassandra; his grandchildren Nolan, Connor, Ainsley, and Oscar; his mother Carolyn; his sisters Mary Lou, and Diane; his sister- in- law Marilyn; his brother- in- laws Roy and Jack; nieces Jessy, Molly, and Natalie and his nephew Sam. Also many cousins and their families.
He will be greatly missed by all his family and friends.
