

Virginia, 89, passed away in Idaho Falls, Idaho on February 24, 2013 at her home of 4 years at the Fairwinds-Sand Creek Retirement Community. Virginia previously resided for 13 years at the Meridian Englewood Retirement Community in Englewood, Colorado. She was under the care of her family and Hands of Hope Hospice in Idaho Falls.
A Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 noon, Saturday March 2, 2013 at the Crown Hill Mortuary located at 7777 West 29th Avenue, Wheat Ridge, Colorado. Her family will visit with friends for one hour prior to going into the chapel for the service. Burial will be in the adjacent Crown Hill Cemetery.
Virginia was born June 19, 1923 in Limon, Colorado. She grew up and attended schools in Limon, graduating from Limon High School. She obtained her bachelor’s degree in education from Chapman College in California. A wife, mother, and homemaker, Virginia also spent many years as an elementary school teacher at various schools in Southern California. She was an outgoing person who loved to reach out and help others. It was a natural fit for her to be a minister’s wife. Her husband Roy, a retired United Methodist Minister, passed away May 25, 1995 in Denver, Colorado.
At the time of her death, Virginia was a member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Idaho Falls, Idaho. Above all else, she loved her family. Now she is reunited with her beloved Roy. She was preceded in death by her husband Roy Albert Carlson; her parents Gustaf W. Anderson and Marie Anderson Jensen; two sisters, Floreine Mains and Thelma Johnson, and two brothers W.E. (Bud) Anderson and Glenn Anderson. She is survived by two sons: R. Douglas (Linda) Carlson of Idaho Falls, Idaho and Keith (Carol) Wesley Carlson of Dumas, Texas; 5 grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren.
