Vivian Kay Howell

August 13, 1949 - June 14, 2025

Vivian K Howell age 75 went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, June 14th 2025. Born on August 13th 1949 in Denver to Lester and Kathryn VanKalkeren. Vivian graduated from Brush H.S. in

1967 then continuing on into the United States Navy where she served in Long Beach CA. After serving 3 years in the Navy, she moved back to Colorado where she remained a lifetime Colorado resident. Vivian attended UNC and studied Nursing achieving her Bachelor in Nursing Degree. In 1976 she married Richard Denning. In Union they had 2 children, John and Laura. Vivian was a RN at many facilities throughout her lifetime, working in hospitals, nursing homes and home health. Religion was a big part of Vivians life, serving as a missionary in Africa and also taking a trip to Jerusalem with her mother to see the Holy Land. She attended Church on a regular basis until her health declined and wouldn’t allow her to travel. She attended the service at the Fort Morgan Harmony Home where she resided until her passing. Vivian’s love in her life were her children and grandchildren. She always attended her grand children’s sporting events in person until she couldn’t anymore, then listened on the radio or online. Vivian enjoyed having coffee with her friends. Vivian is survived by her son, John and wife Patty, Daughter Laura and husband Rosendo, 6 Grandchildren, Jonathan, Errick, Gabriella, Jaycob, Mikaela, and Ein. She was expecting her first Great GrandChild in November. Her sisters, Jean Peterson and Judy Scheifert. She is preceded in death her parents Lester and Kathryn VanKalkeren. Memorial Service will be Monday, June 30th @ 10:00 am at Olinger Funeral Home 7777 W 29th Ave, Wheat Ridge, CO 80033
