

William L. Campbell (Bill) was born in Denver, Colorado on July 15, 1937. He was the son of Archie and June Campbell. He grew up in the area and attended Mountain View Grade School and Wheat Ridge Jr. and Senior High School from 1949 to 1955. After graduating High School Bill attended Colorado University from September 1956 to July 1960 graduating with a BA in Art. After graduation he was drafted into the Army and served at Fort Belvoir Virginia from 1960 to 1962; receiving a Good Conduct Medal Marksman (Rifle) and numerous Commendations from high ranking officials representing Department of Defense, Department of Army and Chief of Engineers in preparing the Training Visit Brochure for the orientation of the 520 U.S. Military Academy Cadets. On the completion of his military duty, he became a commercial artist for the Rockmont Paper Company. He was responsible for many designs and signature products. The mountains and western cowboy culture were always his joy. He created oil paintings and sculptures that represented his love of these. Bill was able to fulfill his dream of living in the mountains in a cabin in Evergreen, Co. He loved his family and especially his great nieces and nephews. He would dress as Santa’s brother, Wilber Claus every Christmas for them.
He is preceded in death by his parents and sisters Bernice Wilson and Maxine Dietz, and niece Suzanne Grover. Survived by three nieces and seven great-nieces and nephews. Gifts to his memory can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
A service is scheduled for Tuesday, April 16, 2017 at 11:30am, staging area "B" at Fort Logan National Cemetery, 3698 S. Sheridan Blvd., Denver, Colorado 80235.
