Bill was born in Amesbury, Massachusetts on January 16, 1937 to William and Mary Greaney, the youngest of three children. He attended Amesbury schools and went on to Bridgeton Academy in Maine and then University of New Hampshire. After college, Bill was a teacher of English and History and coach of football and hockey. He moved on to various managerial positions with Scott Paper Company and with other companies until his retirement.
Bill participated in community volunteer positions as he was promoted from Connecticut, Up State New York and Colorado.
He enjoyed golf and skiing in beautiful Colorado.
He married Margaret "Peggy" Finnegan in Newburyport Massachusetts in 1968.
He is survived by his wife Peggy; daughter Kara Ann Greaney Sauer and husband Benton; two sisters, Sheila Marx of Massachusetts and Mary Teresa Fees-Greaney of Switzerland.
Service at Olinger Chapel of Peace Tuesday, December 19, 2023 at 1:00 p.m., with a reception to follow from 2-4 p.m.
