William Henry Netz (Uncle Bill) was born to Bennie and Mabel Netz on March 28, 1927, at the family farm outside of Waterville Kansas. Bill had three younger sisters, Myrna, Yvonne, and Joan. They grew up during the depression, and all went to the same single room schoolhouse. Their family moved to Denver in 1941 when Bill was a teenager. They lived at a couple locations in Denver prior to landing in their long-time home, in old town Arvada. Bill served in the Army from 1954 to 1956, afterwards moving back into the family home in Arvada. Bill went to work at the Arvada post office as a mail carrier and walked the same route for over 20 years before he retired. Bill was an avid golfer and bowler and frequented the dog track when they were in town. He enjoyed traveling around the country competing in National bowling events, and at the age of 87, still maintained a league average of 190. Bill never married or had children of his own. He was 'Uncle Bill’ to 9 nieces and nephews, many great nieces and nephews, as well as many family friends. Bill never forgot Christmas or birthday presents, and sending holiday cards to everyone. Bill cared for his parents in their aging years at the same family home and remained there himself until relocating to an assisted living facility in Arvada in his later years. Bill lived at the assisted living facility until he passed away on January 31, 2026. Bill was proceeded in death by his mother, father, sisters: Myrna Schultz, Yvonnie Wells, and Joan Heger, and niece Vickie Regala.
