Ami Elizabeth Miller

Ami Elizabeth Coleman-Miller, age 52, of Lake Orion Michigan, passed away suddenly on July 14, 2023. Her memorial service will be held at 5:00 pm on Sunday, July 30, 2023, at the Union Lake Chapel of the Elton Black and Son Funeral Home, 1233 Union Lake Road, White Lake, Michigan 48386. Ami’s family will receive visitors on Sunday from 1:00 pm until the time of service at 5:00 pm. An inurnment will follow at Commerce Cemetery on Monday, July 31, 2023.

Ami was born on April 18, 1971, in Pontiac. She was a graduate of Our Lady of the Lakes High School where she was a member of the 1987 State Champion softball team. She intended to go into the medical field and worked at St. Joseph Hospital and attended Baker College in pursuit of a medical degree, but found her love of the open road too compelling. She graduated from Lansing Community College with her commercial driver license. During her nearly 30 years behind the wheel she drove all 48 continental US states, from the man-made canyons of New York City to the bountiful harvests of California's Central Valley, and all points in between. She was especially proud to be a “Trucker Buddy”, where she corresponded with students from Rufus Hitch Elementary School in Chicago from across the USA. During this time she married and gave birth to her beautiful baby boy Christopher.

Ami is survived by her parents Andy and Cindy Coleman of Waterford, her beloved son Christopher Francis Miller, 17, of Lake Orion, her loving brother Andrew (Samantha) Coleman of Birmingham Alabama, her dear sister Amanda Coleman of Waterford Michigan, her dear niece Malina Abigail Coleman and dear nephew Bryce Andrew Coleman both of Birmingham Alabama, beloved Aunt Christine (Uncle Keith) Dunsmore of White Lake Michigan, her Godparents Matthew Worosz of Bay City MI and Joanne Zientarski of Commerce Township MI and many beloved cousins and dear friends.
