Born in 1943 to Prudencia Mondigo Dosdos and Teodulfo Singco Ibo Ana married Donald Neil Kimler in 1971, and remained together until his death in 1989. Dear mother of Lira Fisher (Brian), Shari Kimler, and Ryan Kimler. Proud grandmother of Grandchildren: Charelle (Kyle), Kathryn, Victoria, Elizabeth, Alexandra, Peyton and Rose. Great Grandma to Stella, Christian and Everett. Brother-in-law to David Kimler and sister-in-law to Terry Kimler and Aunt to many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by 5 brothers and sisters. She being the last remaining sibling to pass. She is also survived by MANY nieces and nephews throughout the United States and in the Philippines. One of her nieces was even named after her and her brother “Leonita”
She was a dedicated member of St. Patrick’s Church in Union Lake for over 40 years. She loved spending time with her family, children and grandchildren. They brought her joy and she was proud of each of them.
Serving a home cooked meal to anyone who came to her home brought her much joy. She added her own little twist to her dishes so that they were just a little bit better than last time. Some of our favorites were her egg rolls, fried bananas, pancit, adobo and shrimp. And her Banana and Carrot Cake was amazing!
In her spare time, she enjoyed gardening. Every year she added more garden real estate. She took pride in the fruit of her labor and loved to share it with family and friends. Creating a peaceful and beautiful space to relax in. Playing cards with her friends and sharing a meal brought many laughs, tears and more change! She also loved to traveling and sharing her stories of the places and the adventures she went on. Whether it was with friends or family, she enjoyed discovering the beauty that each location had to offer. Especially if she could shop! She especially treasured the time spent was able to spend with her family throughout the country and in the Philippines.
She attended Southern Island School of Nursing, Cebu City, Philippines, Class of 1966. After moving to the United States, she began her career as a Registered Nurse. A majority of her time was working at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital and Woodward Hills Health & Rehabilitation Center, as well as various other locations including Urgent Care and Home care. She dedicated over 50 years to helping and caring for patients in their time of need. She gained lifelong friends from each place she worked. Ana is remembered as being: “the kindest person I know.” “Ana was full of life, fun, generous, hardworking, easy to be with, a great host, loving and happy. I feel lucky to have known your wonderful mother.” “Such a beautiful, kind person your Mom was – she always had a smile on her face!” “What a wonderful woman she was.
