Arthur Alfred Kusler; Born September 26, 1939 in Chicago, Illinois; Passed away peacefully in the care of his wife on Sunday, May 11, 2014 in West Bloomfield, Michigan. Mr Kusler is survived by the "Love of his Life"... His wife, Anita Kusler. They were married for 23 years. Arthur was preceded in death by his parents, Alfred and Mary Kusler and his brother, Robert Kusler.
Art was a warm, gentle and kind soul who gave of himself endlessly. He was always willing to help those in need and to give people second chances. He had a heart of gold. He was a very intelligent man with a great sense of humor. He loved to joke around with everyone. Simply put, Art was a very likable man. Everyone just loved Artie!
Arthur was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois, and was a proud "Chicagoan". In his early years he had many career ventures, starting with working at Continental Can, owning a very successful Bar/Restaurant in the mid 1970's to selling Real Estate. He then went on to work for the city of Chicago as the first Assistant Accessor of Cook County. After many years working for the city he decided to start his own tax appraisal firm in Chicago, writing tax appraisals for commercial and industrial buildings in Chicago and throughout Cook County. This business is still thriving and very successful today.
In 2006, after a long and rewarding career in real estate appraisal management, he and Anita decided to leave Chicago and start a new journey in Michigan, where Anita could spend more quality time with her mom and dad. Art had always loved Bloomfield Township with all of it's lakes, especially during the summer time.
Mr. Kusler was a "DIE HARD" Chicago sports fan and he loved all sports in general. He especially loved rooting for the "under dog". He took great pleasure in watching impossible dreams come true on the field of play. DirecTV was his vehicle for watching all of his "Chicago" teams. Forget the Tiger's he would say... Goooooo Sox!
Arthur loved spending free time playing golf, taking leisurely weekend drives and little expeditions throughout "Chicagoland" with Anita, traveling to Europe and fishing on his private lake in Galena, Illinois where he and Anita had a beautiful log home. He kept that lake stocked with Rainbow Trout and Perch. He spent many of day there fishing and reconnecting with his only brother, Bob. It was simply described as his "little slice of Heaven".
