

Brent August Jones, age 55, of White Lake, Michigan, passed away on May 17, 2026, leaving behind a life marked by love, laughter, curiosity, and a deep appreciation for the people and experiences that shaped him.
Brent was born on May 9, 1971, in Jefferson City, Missouri, to Toby and “Biff”. He grew up with a strong sense of family and carried those bonds with him throughout his life. He was the beloved husband of Olivia, whom he met at work, and their anniversary was June 23, 2016. Their relationship was a meaningful and cherished part of his life, built on companionship, devotion, and shared memories. Brent was also a loving father to Darien Jones, a proud brother to Tobylynn Schmidt and her husband Mark, and to Ernie Jones. Brent was a devoted son to his mother, Toby. He was a treasured uncle to Logan and Brady Schmidt, and he held a special place in the hearts of his cats, Leo and Momo. He is also remembered by many other loving family members and friends who will forever cherish his presence.
Brent’s life was enriched by education and a spirit of discovery. He studied at Kansai University in Osaka, Japan, where he became the first international student to attend. He was able to speak fluent Japanese and was able to write as well. He earned a bachelor’s degree and carried with him the value of that experience throughout his life. His time in Japan reflected his openness to new cultures, his determination, and his willingness to take on unique opportunities with confidence and curiosity. Brent worked at Panasonic in international investor relations. While at Panasonic he worked hard and built skills and deepened his knowledge of international affairs. He traveled the world at least twice a year. While traveling he used the experiences to further refine his understanding of international business and deepened his appreciation of culture.
Brent was a man of many interests and passions, and he embraced them with enthusiasm. He loved music, especially heavy metal, and Metallica remained one of his favorite bands, along with many of the great 80’s hair bands. He also appreciated Japanese music and enjoyed karaoke. Motor sports and motorcycles were among his favorite pastimes, and he took great pride in his Harley-Davidson Street Bob. Fishing was something he loved since he was a little boy, and that lifelong enjoyment remained with him. He had a deep interest in history, particularly World War II history and the films connected to it. Brent was also known for his humor, and those who knew him will remember how funny he was and how easily he could bring a smile to others. He loved the outdoors and found joy in camping, hiking, and canoeing. His travels took him to Alaska, Wyoming, and Montana, where he appreciated the beauty and adventure of the natural world. He was also talented at Guitar Hero, a skill that reflected both his love of music and his playful spirit. Brent was a skilled soccer player as well. Enjoying the game and sportsmanship of the team.
Those who knew Brent will remember him as loving, funny, and interesting. He had a way of making people feel welcome, and his presence brought warmth and energy to the lives of others. He lived with a genuine appreciation for life’s simple pleasures and meaningful connections, and he will be remembered for the many ways he shared himself with those around him.
Brent August Jones will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends, and in the stories, laughter, and love he leaves behind.
