I just learned of Brian’s passing into eternity today.  I send my deepest condolences to his family.  I used to substitute for Brian in his German classes many years ago at Adlai E. Stevenson. High School in Sterling Heights.  I always had an enjoyable day with his classes, as foreign languages were my favorite subjects and Brian’s classes were always so enthusiastic, intelligent and delightful, which reflected Brian’s magnificent, professional qualities aa a teacher.   May God grant his family loving, spiritual comfort and may He grant Brian loving and eternal peace.

He was one of my favorite teachers at UHS… I learned enough German that helped me with language barriers when I went to German after Graduation in 1970. Very fond memories and still sing a couple songs he taught. Rest in peace Herr McKee🙏😥

Brian McKee was a fine teacher and mentor to me. I will always remember him singing on Fridays with his guitar, and getting candy left in my shoes for “St. Nicholas day”.  He was a great man. Peace.

Herr McKee was my German teacher from 88 to 91. I have so many fond memories of him and his class. He always had a smile and was always very kind, and had a great sense of humor! I can't count the many head shakes and chuckles I got from him at my  antics in his class. 🤣 His guitar was always close by and he never missed an opportunity to share a German folk/drinking song with us! My favorite part of class!!! "Im Himmel gibt's kein Bier, Deshalb trinken wir's hier". = In heaven there is no beer! That's why we drink it here!!! Thank you, Herr McKee, for the great memories!!!

I knew Brian for at least ten years.  First as the day time manager at the Beacon Hill golf club.   Later he invited me to join the Milford Huron Valley Lions.   In all those years i never heard him say an unkind word about anyone.  As a lLion he was instrumental in establishing the scholarship awards that the club gives to graduating high school students in our area.    He has even donated money to the club to support the scholarsip program. I will mss him  and his fine contributions to the community.   Russ  Courville

Brian was one of the greatest teacher and friend to both his students and myself. We met at the Shamrock Bar what seems like a million years ago. He was seated with his staff at Stevenson HS, and me with mine from Utica HS. We bonded quickly, with love and enduring respect and support of each other that lasted for decades. One of my best memories of the "B", as I affectionally called him, was helping him organize and carry out his retirement party at the Rathskeller Dakota Inn in Detroit. What a night! Good friends, students, colleagues and the food and beer was out of this world!! Just like Brian wanted the night to be. I will miss you dear friend. Ride your train beyond the Rainbow Bridge and enjoy the freedom and beauty of your life.

Herr McKee taught me and my five siblings at Stevenson.  I still can sing the German drinking songs he taught us! He was a great teacher and a nice man.  Very sorry for your loss

Herr McKee was a great teacher. Remember well when he took a group to Germany in the summer, they had a trip of a lifetime in high school.  My sister was gone for 30 days and went to 3 countries the year the summer Olympics was held in Munic.  The total cost was $1,000.  May he rest in peace.

Brian was a great teacher & true gentleman. When I subbed for months in the 1980s at Stevenson as a French teacher, I also had a German 1 class & Brian taught me German everyday so I could teach the kids (I never had German). What a great guy. He will be missed

My wife,Brigitte, followed Brian as German teacher at Stevenson High School. She enjoyed a warm friendship with Brian and I enjoyed the time we both spent with him. 
Brian was a great teacher and such a positive person.

Beloved by his students, many only took 3 years of German at Stevenson High because he was the instructor! Kind and respectful to all, he always brought a generous smile or a caring ear to every conversation. I will always treasure the original WWI "picklehaub" helmet he bequeathed me when he retired! He made Stevenson High a little bit of a kinder and gentler world for all who attended or taught there. RIP, friend.

Brian was one of the kindest souls I ever encountered in my years of teaching.  He provided great support in my early years at Stevenson. His compassion for humanity and disdain for cruelty was appreciated then as it is needed today.  I'm sure he must have been devastated by recent occurrences in our country.  He was a great person and loyal friend.  He will be missed.  Rest in peace, Brian.  You were one of the good ones.

Herr McKee was one of my favorite teachers! German class was always fun and I still remember the trip to Frankenmuth. I still remember some of the German drinking songs too. He was so kind and sincere. He will always be in his students hearts.

Prayers of peace and comfort for the family and friends of Herr Brian McKee.  I met him when he was my younger  brother’s German teacher.  I was inspired by his different way of teaching German and asked him if he would take me on for my student teaching semester in 1976.   He helped so many future teachers.  He touched so many lives.

I’m so sorry for your loss. Herr McKee was one of my favorite teachers. My favorite memory is when he would play his guitar and we’d sing German songs.

I had Mr. McKee as a teacher in 1981-82.  He was the kindest most patient man ever.  He was such a good teacher.  Danke, Herr McKee.

I am so sorry for your loss. Mr. McKee was my favorite teacher in high school. He not only taught me German but life lessons as well. I will never forget him.

Condolences to the family. He was a great and kind person. Always made me laugh. He was known in our circle of friends at Wine Brian. His smile will be missed. Rest in peace friend.

Very sorry for your loss, Herr McKee was the German teacher me and my brother (Dave Dalmer '80). He was a very kind and inspiring teacher, the love for his job and the students was very apparent. Praying for his family, God Bless.

I’m so sorry to read this! My husband Bernie and I enjoyed working with Brian when we sold his home and helped him purchased his new one. We were at his housewarming and loved meeting friends and family. Such a loss. Peace to his family.  Chris Shoemaker.

Sorry to learn of Brian's passing. I became aquatinted with him several years ago when he was the co-ordinator  for an annual Model Railroad train show and swap meet.  I was one of many dealers that knew Brian through that venue. He was always very accommodating and a great guy to work with. I am happy that I was able to participate in many of those shows and got to know and appreciate Brian's efforts.  He will be missed.

Lion Brian was an enthusiastic and devoted  public servant. I was one of the first scholarship recipients, and the Lions Club scholarship touched off a stream of other gifts that were instrumental in helping me to go to college and eventually become a physician. I always enjoyed hearing from Brian and came back to talk to the Lions whenever he asked. 

I am sending my condolences to his family, on the loss of this lovely man.
